Two for One @ Curzon cinema

Offer: TERROR’S ADVOCATE (12A) PLUS DIRECTOR Q&A 2 for 1 MEMBERS
Jacques Vergès is the kind of lawyer that people love to hate. Over several decades, he’s made a career out of defending some of the most despised figures of our time – from anti-colonial bombers in Algeria, to left-wing extremists like Carlos the Jackal and right-wing dictators like Slobodan Milošević. At the height of his career, he disappeared for an eight-year period and refused to disclose where he had been. Then reappeared to continue where he left off, defending ever-more controversial clients including, Magdalena Kopp, Nazi lieutenant Klaus Barbie, French philosopher and noted Holocaust denier Roger Garaudy and Tarek Aziz (Saddam Hussein’s Vice President, as Vergès was denied defending Saddam Hussein by Saddam’s family).
TERROR’S ADVOCATE screens as part of THE LONDON INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY FESTIVAL at Renoir, Soho and Mayfair 29 March-4 April. The film opens on May 16 at Soho and Renoir.
